Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

GooLive (“we”) runs www.goolive.net: business storefronts, a marketplace, a social feed and tools for running a business. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Questions: privacy@goolive.net.

What we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, and, if you add them, phone number, city, profile photo, profession, skills, hourly rate and bio. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
  • Sign-in with Google or Facebook — your name, email address and that provider’s account ID. We do not receive your password for those services.
  • What you create — businesses, products, marketplace listings, posts, reviews, orders, bookings, quote requests, job applications, messages, reports, and the photos and videos you upload. Before storing a photo we remove its hidden metadata, including location.
  • Business records — sales, stock, orders, team tasks and, if you use the capital features, the business figures you choose to share in a data room.
  • Technical data — server logs (IP address, pages requested, time, browser) kept for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

  • To create and secure your account, sign you in, and run the features you use.
  • To show your storefront, listings and posts to visitors — content you publish is public by design.
  • To process orders, payments and deliveries you request.
  • To send in-app notifications about your orders, messages and activity.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, review reports, and enforce our rules.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking tools.

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run GooLive, and only what each one needs:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosts the site and stores all data, in the Stockholm (Sweden) Region, delivered through Amazon CloudFront.
  • Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Paymob — processes card payments. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI — when you use an AI feature (for example writing a post or product description), the text you submit and the business details needed for that task are sent to the AI provider you select to produce the result.
  • Delivery partners — when an order is delivered, the recipient’s name, phone number and address are shared with the courier.
  • Other users — businesses you order from or message see what you send them; sellers and buyers see each other’s names in conversations.

We may also disclose data when Egyptian law or a court order requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We keep you signed in by storing your sign-in tokens in your browser’s local storage, and remember preferences there too (language, light or dark theme, saved listings, your cart). Signing in with Google or Facebook sets one short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in and is deleted straight after. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How we protect it

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Data is encrypted at rest, passwords are hashed, administrator access requires two-factor authentication, and access to production systems is limited to what each part of the service needs.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as transaction records), which we keep only as long as required.

Your rights

Under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020) you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. You can edit most of your details on your profile. For anything else, including deleting your account, email privacy@goolive.net. We reply within 30 days.

Children

GooLive is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect.
